Somewhere Blue

Somewhere Blue
By AJ O’Brien.

Upon copper coated highways
that dance from here to there,
drove a man of substance
in search of something rare.

Beneath a sky of sorrows
that fell up and down,
he came upon, Somewhere Blue.
A strange little town.

The people were all broken
their houses the colour red,
and in every front garden
did lay, something dead.

The man of substance
looked at the sky of sorrows,
and knew within his heart
there would be, no more tomorrows.

Beyond Black

Beyond Black
By AJ O’Brien.

Barbaric thoughts collide
beneath a children’s sky
and paint the earth
an innocent red.
So the toll is many,
wishing only life
die a hideous demise.

Resurrected black dreams
spewing from minds obscene
inhale the screams of carnage.
And death is innocent
filling their emptiness,
forever broken, yet seeking
the reason why.

Lost

Lost
By AJ O’Brien.

Self inflicted pain
beneath a haunting tune,
can’t turn down the volume
it’s far too soon.

And blindly stepping
from a bridge a distant hue
wearing tears of shame
as she does what she must do.

Slipping through emptiness,
she fell among the dead,
drowning in forgotten words
that no one ever read.

Joanne d’ Arc

Joanne d’ Arc
By AJ O’Brien.

Dark dreams, black silk
woven from shadows
and born of fire,
soon to be caressed
by the words
of a lonely martyr.
Kneel within the ashes
of a crime gone by,
and in silence pray,
as you listen to
Joanne d’ Arc cry.

Self destruct

Self destruct
By AJ O’Brien

Beyond my blue dreams
beneath a heart laid bare,
the enemy whispers
Spike me if you dare.

The clock stands empty
gonna say goodbye,
taking Route 66
spread my wings and fly.

I am the needle
and it’s eating me,
ain’t fighting no more
what will be will be.

This road is so dark
and I can not see,
that every hit I take
Is slowly killing me.

Insanity

Insanity
By AJ O’Brien.

And we stand together
you and I,
climbing above the screams
of an asylum.
Our eyes, indecent shadows
dancing upon the weak.

Malice was a forethought
our hunger obscene,
pursuing wicked dreams
to an unknown place.
You and I,
we were damaged hunters.

Opening dams scarlet bright
eating forbidden fruit
we drank from fountains red.
And down this sinful road
you and I,
we did happily tread.

Monkey on her back

Monkey on her back
By AJ O’Brien.

A candle burning hope
searching for her God
within a greying town,
came upon a man of old
dressed in golden brown.

Spikes pierce the silence
given a free trip
to no man’s land.
She had found hunger,
became one of the dammed.

Within her veins
the killer sang
songs of death and decay,
and so hard she tried to stay alive
but fell along the way.
