Unjust

Unjust
Three Haikus
By AJ O’Brien.

Gallows sightless, black
fear has arrived, hope has fled.
Thirteen steps to climb.

Blind. A hood of silk,
slip knot caressing her neck.
Preparing to bite.

She is innocent,
a matter of self defence.
And the trapdoor fell.
